PROCO-ETFE

PROCO-ETFE and PROCO-ETFE DA

ETFE coating for chemical-resistant surfaces

PROCO-ETFE is a high-performance ETFE coating (ethylene tetrafluoroethylene) that is characterised by its outstanding resistance to almost all chemicals, acids, alkalis and organic solvents.

The chemical-resistant coating can withstand temperatures of up to 150 °C and is suitable for demanding applications in the chemical industry, semiconductor industry, electromobility and in mechanical and plant engineering.

The key properties of PROCO-ETFE include its high chemical resistance and temperature resistance. These are crucial for use under extreme process conditions.

PROCO-ETFE DA - White, FDA-compliant ETFE coating

With PROCO-ETFE DA, HÜNI+CO is expanding its portfolio with a white, FDA-compliant ETFE coating for regulated industries.

The coating is suitable for components in the food industry, pharmaceutical industry, chemical industry and semiconductor industry and combines the properties of ETFE with additional requirements for documentable processes.

PROCO-ETFE DA is resistant to a wide range of aggressive media such as acids, alkalis, solvents and industrial cleaning chemicals.

The key properties include

  • Layer thicknesses from 300 to 800 µm: PROCO-ETFE DA creates design leeway where thinner coatings reach their geometric or mechanical limits. The high layer thicknesses increase resistance to mechanical stress and contribute to longer service lives.
  • FDA conformity: PROCO-ETFE DA is FDA-compliant and therefore suitable for documented use in pharmaceutical and food production. This creates planning security for internal qualifications and external audits.
  • Smooth, non-porous surface: The surface is closed and has no microcracks or deposits. Cleaning media can take full effect, which is particularly relevant in GMP environments and validated cleaning processes.
  • Dielectric strength: The coating is suitable for applications in measurement technology and process analytics, for example for rod electrodes or measuring sensors.

The white version of PROCO-ETFE is a particularly suitable option where PROCO - E-CTFE DA in pearl white was previously used. A suitability test is recommended for new or unknown media, as colour changes may occur in individual cases. We would be happy to assist you with this process.

FAQ - PROCO-ETFE & PROCO-ETFE DA

PROCO-ETFE is a fluoropolymer coating system based on ETFE with high chemical and temperature resistance for industrial applications.

PROCO-ETFE DA is the white, FDA-compliant variant of PROCO-ETFE for components in the chemical, pharmaceutical, food and semiconductor industries.

PROCO-ETFE DA is the white, FDA-compliant version and is used in particular in regulated areas.

Yes, the coating is FDA-compliant and suitable for use in the food and pharmaceutical industries.

In most cases, yes. Components that were previously coated with PROCO - E-CTFE DA can usually be converted directly to PROCO-ETFE DA. For specific requirements, this is checked in advance.

With certain aggressive media, the white surface may show discolouration without the protective effect being impaired. For critical applications, a suitability test with the specific medium is recommended.

Depending on the requirements and component geometry, layer thicknesses between 300 and 1000 µm can be realised. The optimum design is determined as part of the technical coordination.

Yes, the dielectric strength makes the coating suitable for applications such as rod electrodes or measuring equipment.

The maximum operating temperature is around 150 °C.
