Zinc flake coating for large-format industrial components
New at HÜNI+CO!
Zinc flake coating is a high-performance, inorganic corrosion protection system based on zinc and aluminum flakes. It offers a very high level of protection against atmospheric corrosion – even under demanding environmental conditions – and is used wherever conventional galvanic coatings reach their limits.
The basecoats consist of zinc and aluminum flakes in an inorganic, water-based binder. They protect metal parts from corrosion through a sacrificial protection and barrier effect. An additional topcoat can expand the functional range of the coating – for example, through controlled friction, chemical resistance, temperature resistance, or color.
Corrosion protection is provided by a lamellar layer system that evenly coats the surface and achieves a high level of protection even with low layer thicknesses.
HÜNI+CO uses high-performance GEOMET® and EXOMET™ zinc flake coatings specifically for large, complex components as well as for individual parts and small series.
Features of the zinc flake coating
- Very high corrosion protection with low coating thickness
- Uniform coating even of complex geometries
- Good dimensional accuracy
- Suitable for high demands on service life and operational safety
- No hydrogen embrittlement - suitable for high-strength steels
- Good resistance to temperature and environmental influences
- Suitable for industrial use, reproducible, reliable process
- Water-based technology
